(It might be the middle of the night but he'll switch into his casual clothes, throw a haori over his shoulders to keep himself warm, and head out to wait for Aki by the entrance. Just to makes sure he comes back safely.)
[ It takes a few moments for Aki to get there, but soon enough he's stumbling up to the entrance, a little wobbly on his legs. When he looks up, he blinks, staring at Tsurumaru as if he isn't real. ]
[ His cheeks were already pink from drinking, but they seem to get a little more vibrant as Tsurumaru speaks. Slowly, he reaches out to lean on him, but gently. Carefully. ]
(It's more the warmth that gives Aki away than the color. How cute, he thinks, and he braces himself to support Aki's weight. He may be shorter and certainly on the thinner side but he's still strong. He can easily support him and he leads the way, careful to make sure Aki doesn't stumble over any steps or ledges they may cross.
There are things he could say right now. He could certainly tease him and make things worse, but he has some mercy.)
[ Given how drunk he is, it's surprising how capable of walking and climbing steps Aki is; clearly, this isn't the first time he's wandered around drunk or had to make his way home. He might get a taxi back at home, but the bar to the base wasn't that far. He just sighs softly, letting himself relax into Tsurumaru's hold.
... Fun? He hums a little, trying to think. ]
Yuwon-san failed to get drunk, no matter how much we had... [ He shakes his head. ] And I still remember.
(It's personal, OK. Yuwon manhandled him in December and Tsurumaru Kuninaga has never forgiven him. As he guides him through the base, he keeps his voice quiet to not draw attention to them or disturb anyone,)
Were you trying to forget something?
(Was he drinking because he was depressed... what upset him...
But they arrive at his room and he waits for Aki to open the door first. It's not like Tsurumaru has a key or anything.)
[ Aki has no idea about any of that, so he's just... Existing. He wobbles a little when he gets to the door, reaching out to unlock it and slip inside. It's barely decorated, the only thing present being the sword leaning against a wall that Aki ignores.
(Most rooms in this base feel empty. He's chanced glances into a few that are much more full of life and personality but he's seen plenty that offer little about their occupants, too. He supposes Aki is one of them.
He helps guide Aki over to the bed and then sits beside him. He's still here for Aki to lean on, after all.)
[ If it were anyone else, he would be far less forthcoming, even when drunk, but he trusts Tsurumaru. They've spent enough time together that he thinks he understands him, a little, and he's willing to share a little more of himself. They're friends, aren't they? They've been partners, they've worked together.
He shakes his head, lifting his hand to tug the hairband off his topknot. ]
I only had two years left anyway, but I died. Turned into a Fiend.
(Only 2 years left anyway and then having it cut off even shorter than that. He could say something about how short human lives are and how surprisingly they can end but this doesn't seem appropriate and there's something else he here that catches his attention,)
A fiend?
(This is a chance to talk about how he dies. How he died. If he wants.)
(He doesn't move. He lets Aki lean onto him and he even adjusts his position a bit to try and make it a little more comfortable for him. After a moment, he reaches up to brush Aki's hair with his fingers.
Voice calm, speaking patiently, gently coaxing Aki to speak but only if he wants to,)
You're a Devil Hunter.
(He's heard that a few times but he still doesn't really understand.)
Life is full of surprises. (Fingers brushing through hair, untangling, smoothing out, trying to brush away some of the tension,) And death is the final one of all.

[ No 'san' this time? How daring. (He forgot). ]

(Don't cut your own bangs in the middle of the night. That's the devil speaking.)
Where are you now?
no subject
[ He totally is. ]
walking back to base

Toward the main entrance?
(Assuming there's probably more than one entrance at a base this large.)
no subject
[ Yeah, definitely drunk. ]

... Ah? [ How odd. ] Tsurumaru-san...
no subject
(He probably stands out in the dark given his propensity to wear all white...)
Are you surprised to see me?
no subject
[ What's going on? He was just texting him, and now he's here! Like magic... ]
Why?
no subject
(Maybe.)
Come along. (He's going to go over to Aki now, offering his shoulder to him to lean on,) Let's get you inside.

[ His cheeks were already pink from drinking, but they seem to get a little more vibrant as Tsurumaru speaks. Slowly, he reaches out to lean on him, but gently. Carefully. ]
My room is 17.

Did you have fun?
(He's certainly had plenty to drink.)

Yeah. I died.

Me and the Gun Devil, merged together after I died.

[ Aki sighs, deflating, strength fading a little. ]
Devils can take over people's corpses. When they die. The Gun Devil did that to me.
[ Tears prickle at his eyes... How strange. ]
I knew I was going to die. But I didn't think... So soon.
no subject
But you're alive right now.
(Fingers still and Tsurumaru inhales,)
You're warm.
(Definitely alive next to him.)
no subject
[ Or he'll get sent back, and if he gets sent back he'll die. It's that simple...
The hand in his hair is soothing, though, and he breathes out. ]
Mmm. So I should cut my hair. No Kon here to eat it.
no subject
(If he had to guess... maybe some sort of fox? But he isn't sure why Aki would have a fox unless fox assistants are common across worlds.)
no subject
[ A sigh, and he lifts a hand to rub at his eyes. ]
